Great North Run 2010

Great North RunRainbow Trust Children’s Charity

On Sunday, 19th September 2010 I will be competing in the Great North Run to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

This is my third Great North Run and I hope to beat my time of 1 hour and 34 minutes.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity
provides practical and emotional support to families when their child has a life threatening or terminal illness. The charity relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and is able to help around 1,000 families a year. £20 pays for a sick child and their family to attend a hospital appointment. £150 pays for a day trip for a worried and lonely sibling. £500 covers one month’s running costs of their 24hour telephone helpline. £800 pays for 44 hours of care from a Family Support Worker. I have pledged to raise over £300 for the charity.
