Hamsterley & Upper Gaunless Action Group

“I have been asked to circulate the following message:

The Hamsterley & Upper Gaunless Action Group (HUGAG) have major concerns about the proposal by Banks Ltd to erect wind turbines beside the road that runs along the top of Hamsterley Forest.

Naturally enough, the recent exhibitions by Banks portrayed a positive message. HUGAG’s aim is to put the other side of the story, explaining in more detail what this proposal would actually mean for our local landscape and wildlife.

HUGAG’s approach to explaining these threats is practical and objective; it is emphatically not sensationalist. To highlight the principal concerns, HUGAG are holding a major exhibition in three local village halls on three successive evenings:

  • Hamsterley Village Hall – Wednesday 8th June 6-9pm
  • Woodland Village Hall – Thursday 9th June 6-9pm
  • Copley Village Hall – Friday 10th June 6-9pm

You are warmly invited to attend at least one of the three exhibitions, simply to learn more about the implications of this proposal.”
