Arrangements were made for a ‘Cream Tea Afternoon’ on Saturday 20/8/2011 in Hamsterley village hall, to be open to the public.

The talk was given by Sunita lee who lives in England but was born in Delhi. She gave an interesting account of her life and much of the talk was about Saris , what they were made from and how they were worn. One of our members , Sue, modeled one of the saris and we were all shown how they are put on and how quick it is to do this. The materials were all very light and the embroidery and colours were beautiful.

The vote of thanks was given by Clare.

The competition was won by Ann Waslshall.

The evening ended with a lovely supper provided by the members.

The August meeting, 9/9/2011, will be a walk at Mickleton.
