“The message and PDF below were sent to me several days ago by Vicky Chilcott, but for some reason failed to reach me. That explains the now very short time-frame in which to respond, as the deadline is at the end of this month.”
From Vicky Chilcott:
“If you are concerned about the implications for Hamsterley Forest (and other forests) of a possible move out of public ownership, do please answer the brief questionnaire.
“You will remember that in the light of public opposition earlier this year, the Government withdrew proposals to sell off our forests and established instead an Independent Panel on Forestry to examine the whole subject and produce recommendations.
“The Panel is now calling for public views on the future of the forests and they have specifically asked 5 questions about this. If you would like your views on the future of the forests, including Hamsterley, to be taken into account by the Panel please take a few minutes to answer these questions at http://www.defra.gov.uk/forestrypanel/views. Views are requested by 31 July 2011.
“The Panel has also produced its first Newsletter and this can be downloaded for information.
