“We are organising a sponsored dog walk in Hamsterley Forest on 9th September. Proceeds are in aid of The Royal British Legion’s Never Forget appeal to help soldiers returning from the front line and to bring a tribute garden to the North of England to honour those who have died in the line of duty.
The event is dedicated to Steven Dunn, my friend’s son, who sadly died in Afghanistan in Dec 2010 aged 27. More details can be found on our webpage www.shallowfordretrievers.co.uk/department/mission5k
The walks will start at 1pm, (if we have a big resonse we will stagger starting times between 1 and 1.30pm) and the event will finish about 5pm.
We expect people will arrive from about 12.30.We would be very grateful if any of your members might wish to help by providing a cake or small cakes for our stall on the 9th and also if you could raise awareness of our event and the appeal.
We will have two walks, one especially for families with children and puppies, more an amble along the riverside. We also have a raffle with a star prize of a TV and DVD combined, tombola, pet supplies and mini fun dog show – all dogs welcome, but equally so are walkers without dogs.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07921174597 for any further details.
