Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Pennines Cycle Event
An Order is being made under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to close to vehicular traffic from 7 October 2012 the roads detailed on attached schedule. .
The closure is necessary to allow the 2012 Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Pennine Cycle Event to take place
It will also be necessary to prohibit movement of livestock in a westerly direction on C17 for 1400m between its junction with Unc 19.15 and its junction with Unc 18.26, Esh Bank
It will also be necessary to prohibit vehicular traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour on the following roads:
– A68 for 1750m between the Northbound derestriction signs at Toft Hill and a point 732m north of the Sloshes Lane crossroads.
– A68 for 1460m from a point 730m south of its junction with C16 Healyfield Lane/Longedge Lane junction to a point 730m north of its junction with C16 Healeyfield Lane/Longridge Lane, Rowley.
The closures and speed restriction will be effected by an order made under Section 16(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will be effective from 06.00hrs on Sunday 7 October 2012. The anticipated duration of the closure is until approximately 14.15hrs as per the schedule.
The order shall not apply to emergency vehicles and vehicles in association with the event.
Advance Closure Signs will be provided and limited diversion signs to ensure traffic is not lead to a dead end, but generally, due to the short nature of the closures, alternative routes will not be signed to vehicular traffic.
