Francois (Jaques Tati) is a postman in a small French town. On the day of the annual féte he tries to be helpful, unaware that the townsfolk are laughing at him behind his back.

With just a few spoken words and a mixture of gentle slapstick and sight gags, this is a beautifuly atmospheric portrait of Frence rural life.
