Community Mosaic Project

MosaicThe Village Hall Committee is hoping to set up a project to create a ceramics mosaic (or a group of mosaics) to install on the back wall of the main hall. With the guidance of a ceramics artist we would follow the process through from design and creation of the mosaic to grouting and final polishing.

We’re assuming the design will reflect Hamsterley – images of the village itself, key events (historical and more recent) and activities, symbols depicting organisations – the possibilities are endless.

We welcome expressions of interest from organisations, family groups and individuals to make this a real community project. No previous experience is required. This is an opportunity to get together, learn a new skill and create an artwork for permanent display.

For more details and to register your enthusiasm, contact the Secretary on 01388 488323. Please respond by 15th May.

One Response to Community Mosaic Project

  1. HI I came across you one day whilst doing a spot of Googling and wondered whether your interesting mosaic project needs a mosaic artist!
I specialise in working with communities to ‘tell their story’ in mosaic.
