The minutes of the November meeting were agreed.
We had a short discussion about our Christmas tea at Mainsgill and the Christmas lunch at the Cross Keys.
She drew our attention to the fact that the annual membership fees are now due to be paid.
Gillian Rutter is going to be our delegate at the National Annual Meeting with Sue Davies as reserve.
Janet is going to a Presidents training day.
Next year 2015 is the centenary of the National WI and there is going to be a national Baton Relay, more details later.
The County Bursary for Denman College was mentioned and members asked to send names into county office if they are interested.
The county Annual Meeting is on 29th of April and members were asked if anyone is interested in doing a collage for the competition, please think about it.
Sue Davies is collecting coins for Marie Curie, we were asked to bring unwanted foreign coins left from holidays.
The marmalade competition at Dalemain is being staged again and Hilary explained that if anyone was interested she will get them entry forms. However the consensus of opinion this year was that the entry fees of £8 per jar is just a little high.
Hilary mentioned the first outing of the year which will probably be in April to visit a large garden near Penrith and then go out for a meal, more details next time.
Hamsterley WI is 90 in 2015 and suggestions are requested for fund raising so we can celebrate next year.
Our meeting this time was a Quiz afternoon and this was organised by Bob Garten and Ann Richards.
We had an interesting and amusing afternoon competing in teams and stretching our memories for music and events. After this we enjoyed a cup of tea with Christmas cake and cheese.
The raffle was won by Hilary Jenkins.

The next meeting is on 11th February at 1.30pm. Speaker, Lynn Dent, title ‘Wooleyback’, the topic being ‘The Gentle art of Knitting’.
The competition, a small knitted day/evening bag, width 6 inches.
