Sunday 10.30am – Family worship and the Word of God. Service every 4th & 5th Sunday of the month. Everyone is welcome to join us for an informal discussion Bible Study every Thursday at 7.30pm. The three Churches in the Village – Anglican, Baptist and Methodist, work together under a local ecumenical partnership agreement (LEP) known as Hamsterley Churches Together.

Usually referred to in the village as “the Chapel” Hamsterley Methodist Church, located in the centre of the village, works in partnership with Hamsterley Churches Together. See also Hamsterley Churches Together.

Memgarden W1 150x150 All OrganisationsThe Hamsterley Millennium Yew Garden
Established to celebrate the Millennium, the garden features a Yew planted as a cutting from a 2000 year old tree from Hambledon in Surrey. The garden is cared for by volunteers from the village.

The Club is run in the smaller room of the Village Hall on the third Monday of the winter months (from October to March) starting at 7.30pm and seldom lasting after 9.00pm. It offers a completely varied and unpredictable programme of talks, slideshows, demonstrations, occasional quizzes and other amusements.

Parish Council 4W 150x150 All OrganisationsThe Parish Council
The Parish Council’s duties are to manage the affairs of the Village, including maintaining the tidy and attractive appearance of the Village, with special responsibility for the care of the historic Village Greens, to consider planning applications and make recommendations to the County Council accordingly, and to deal with requests, suggestions and complaints from parishioners.

Hamsterley Primary School was built in 1964 and comprises two classrooms, each room having its own cloakroom facilities and two mini computer suites for infant and junior pupils, a central hall, library and art area. There is a history of the school on the School page.

Sunday club will start again on Sunday 30th October at the new time of 10:45am. With a newly refurbished hall and indoor facilities, please come and see.Lots of crafts, music, playing and stories for children aged 4 to 10 years of age. Toddlers and babies are welcome with an accompanying adult.

The village hall was originally built as a school in 1822 and was converted to a village hall in 1967.The size and layout of the Hamsterley Village Hall make it an ideal choice for private and business functions.
